Early Passion: Art Before Ink
Since childhood, Eduardo Costa — now known as Duk Tattoo — was surrounded by creativity. Raised in a family where music and art were always present, he spent hours drawing, painting, and experimenting with styles. By age 13, he was already fascinated by tattoo culture, especially influenced by the heavily tattooed rock scene around him.
First Tattoo, First Steps in the Studio
At 17, Duk got his first tattoo. Soon after, a high-end tattoo studio opened in his hometown. He became close to the artists, earned their trust, and was welcomed as an apprentice. By 20, he was already tattooing professionally, developing his skills and beginning a career that would take him across continents.
Latin America, Europe & Beyond
Over the years, Duk traveled across nearly all Latin American countries, eventually settling in Argentina, where he spent 13 years perfecting his craft. His journey included work and learning experiences in Europe and North America, always evolving through practice, artistic exchange, and competition.
During this time, he participated in international tattoo conventions, won awards, and even served as a juror, deepening his understanding of the industry and raising his profile among top artists.
Signature Style: Geometry, Ornamental & Black Work
Throughout his career, Duk explored multiple styles — from traditional and Japanese to full color and black & grey. But today, his identity is rooted in geometry, ornamental patterns, dotwork, fine lines, and black work, often merging with subtle black & grey shading.
Every piece is custom, intentional, and built to reflect both technical mastery and personal connection.
Established in Florida: Competing and Creating
Today, Duk is based in Boca Raton, Florida, where he creates large-scale custom tattoos and continues to push his work to new levels. He actively competes in top tattoo conventions across the U.S., including the Orlando Tattoo Show, Florida Tattoo Expo, and others throughout the country.
He’s earned recognition, awards, and now — in a full-circle moment — he’s been invited as a juror for the upcoming Orlando Tattoo Show, a prestigious role earned through years of dedication and respect in the scene.
